Introduction to Jerusalem

Pick up from Ashdod Port and travel directly to the Holy City of Jerusalem.   From the Mount of Olives you will have a spectacular view of the Temple Mount and Jerusalem. Our walking tour of the Old City will include Mt. Zion, the Armenian Quarter, the Roman Byzantine Cardo, a 2700 year old wall built by King Hezikiyahu, a discussion of the Hurva Synagogue, a tour of the Herodian Mansion, the Kotel (the western wall of the Temple Mount), and the Southern Wall excavations.  While touring, we'll focus on First and Second Temple Jerusalem, and try to understand how the Beit HaMikdash (the Temple) was the center of Jewish life.  Walk through the Moslem Quarter.  Return to vehicle and return to Ashdod Port.
