Touring the Galilee region including Megiddo, Tzippori, Tiberias, and Katzrin.
Depart Jerusalem and drive to the Galil region. Our first stop will be Megiddo, located at the opening of the Jezreel valley in northern Israel; it was one of the main cities during King Solomon’s period, as well as a major city during the reigns of Omri and Ahab. We'll then go to the archeological park at Tzippori, where Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi wrote the Mishna. This was a small town that housed not only the great rabbis of the Sanhedrin, but also, at the same time, had a very large Hellenistic population that left a legacy of wonderful mosaics, including the "Mona Lisa of the Galilee." It’s time for lunch, so how about lunch in Tiberias at a restaurant just on the seashore. From here, travel to Katzrin, considered the capital of the Golan Heights, for a visit to the Golan Winery, to learn about the art of kosher wine making as well as sampling some of the wines as well!! Return to Jerusalem.
