3 Day tour of the North- family oriented tour
Visiting the Golan and the Galil
Depart from Jerusalem and travel north via the Jordan Valley. During the trip you’ll appreciate various aspects of the Land of Israel, including the desert regions, and the delta that separates Israel from Jordan, formed by the Syrian-African rift. We’ll discuss the travels of the Israelites as they entered Eretz Yisrael. Our first touring site will be at the edge of the JezrealValley at Gan Garoo, the AustralianKangarooPark, where kangaroos, koalas and birds from Australia wander freely. From here we’ll visit the ancient Roman city of Beit Shean, known as Scythopolis. After lunch, we’ll take drive along the eastern banks of the kinneret and stop off for a refreshing water hike in the Madjrassa, a tributary feeding into the lake. It’s like walking through paradise!! After we dry off, we’ll continue our journey into the Golan Heights, stopping off at the city of Katzrin, known lovingly as the capital of the Golan. We’ll visit the ancient Talmudic Village to see how life was like in the Golan during the 4th-7th centuries. Now it’s time to relax just a little bit more, as we visit the Golan Winery. Here you’ll learn the fine art of Kosher wine making and get to sample 3 different wines! Travel to our lodgings in.
Day Two: : Begin our day with an enjoyable walk around Sefat, city of the mystics, where we'll explore its alleyways, synagogues, and art galleries. Now it’s time to head north, for a wonderful nature hike at Tel Dan, a beautiful nature reserve whose waters feed into the Jordan River. From here, we’ll travel into the Golan to Har Ben Tal for a spectacular view into Syria. Now it’s time to cool off – let’s go rafting down the Jordan River!!! After rafting, the kids (and adults too) and do rope climbing, wall climbing, or a zip line into the Jordan River. Return to lodgings.
Day Three: Begin the day with an amazing jeep ride into the Golan Heights! Next, let’s take a ride on the Manara Cable Car , the country’s longest cable car stretching from Kiryat Shmona to Manara, for an amazing view of the Hula Valley and the Golan Heights. Visit the Neot shoe factory. Now travel to the lower Galil area, and visit Tzippori, the archeological park, where Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi wrote the Mishna 1800 years ago. As this was also a Roman Center, we'll see wonderful mosaics including the "Mona Lisa of the Galilee.” Return to Jerusalem.
