Our Fight for Independence: In and around Tel Aviv

Tour F:
This tour will relate to the defense of Jews living in Eretz Yisrael and the establishment of a Jewish State. Tour will be in areas close to Tel Aviv.
There are 2 tour options:
- Tour F-1 departs from Jerusalem
- Tour F-2 departs from areas close to Tel Aviv
Tour F-1:
Depart Jerusalem and travel along the Jerusalem -Tel Aviv highway where we’ll stop to see various armored vehicles that the Jews used in 1948 to protect themselves from the attacking Arabs. You’ll hear stories about how the Jews almost completely lost Jerusalem! Continue onto Tel Aviv for a visit to Independence Hall, where the declaration of the State of Israel was proclaimed! Afterwards, we’ll head to the new interactive Palmach museum for an interesting insight into those who participated in the Palmach, the striking force of the Hagana. Lunch in Tel Aviv. Afterwards, travel to Rechovot to visit the secret bullet factory at Machon Ayalon. Located on a kibbutz, this factory was built and concealed even from the Kibbutz members themselves, and was used by the Hagana to secretly manufacture 2.25 million bullets for the Jewish underground in Palestine during the years 1945-1948.
Tour F-2:
[Tours departing from Tel Aviv area]: Travel to Museum of the Hagana, one of the organizations established in the early 1900's to defend the Jews living in the Land of Israel. A wonderful way to appreciate the evolution and establishment of the State of Israel while learning about the history of this organization. Walk over to Independence Hall, where the declaration of the State of Israel was proclaimed! Enjoy a short walk to the Carmel Market and enjoy the sights and sounds of Tel Aviv’s largest fruit and vegetable market, (many other items sold there as well). Afterwards, travel to Rechovot to visit the secret bullet factory at Machon Ayalon. Located on a kibbutz, this factory was built and concealed even from the Kibbutz members themselves, and was used by the Hagana to secretly manufacture 2.25 million bullets for the Jewish underground in Palestine during the years 1945-1948. For our last activity, we’ll head to the new interactive Palmach museum for an interesting insight into those who participated in this unit of the striking force of the Hagana.
