Jerusalem Highlights

Cruise visits to Israel

The goal of this tour is to show you how Jerusalem has been a central focus for Jews for over 3000 years.  We will see how Jerusalem has transformed over the years and that from the moment of it’s inception until today, it has always been considered the capital of the Jewish people.   Our tour will begin with a drive up to Mount Scopus and Mount of Olives for spectacular view of Jerusalem’s Old City, the TempleMount, and Dome of the Rock. During this visit we will appreciate the historical, religious, and military significance of these mountain ranges.  We will continue to the City of David, the site where Jerusalem first was founded, for a brief overview.  From here, we will enter the ancient walled city of Jerusalem and tour the Southern Wall excavations and the Kotel.  We will walk through the Jewish Quarter, getting a feel of Jewish life in the Quarter today and recalling its importance throughout our history.   We will pass by the Hurva Synagogue and here its challenging history, along with the Ramban’s Synagogue, we will see the Roman Byzantine Cardo, the Broad Wall, and have an opportunity to walk upon the rooftops to see all 4 quarters of the Old City.  We will depart the OldCity travel to Ammunition Hill, site of one of the most difficult battles in the 6-Day War, whose victory allowed the Israeli forces to break through and recapture the Old City of Jerusalem.  From here, we will visit Machne Yehuda outdoor market, for a taste of Israeli everyday life and cuisine.  Return to AshdodPort.
